a letter to my husband on his birthday

I love my husband as much as he loves his birthday. This little post is to show him how grateful I am for him today—and every day.

(Please note the Iowa Hawkeyes colors in the balloons as an extra tribute to the birthday diva!)

Dear Tyler,

It’s your birthday today and I’m so excited to celebrate you. I know you’re already uncomfortable with me writing a post like this, so I’ll try to keep things short & sweet.

First and most importantly, I love you. I waited for what feels like a very long time to find you. I stayed faithful and trusted that my perfect match was out there, and then you came (back) into my life. I’m thankful for you Every. Single. Day.

I’m so proud of you. I probably don’t tell you that nearly enough, but I am. You work so hard to provide for our little family. You’ve already achieved such great things professionally and personally, and I cannot wait to see what you will accomplish in the future. I’m just glad I get to be here to watch and cheer you on.

I wouldn’t be the person I am without you. You encourage me and dare me to dream big. You believe in me and it means more to me than you’ll ever know.

You’re my best friend. I know we joke that TD is my best friend, but it’s you and me to the end. You’re it for me. I am so thankful for you and thankful that 33 years ago today you were brought into the world.

With all the love, gratitude and admiration in the world, happiest of birthdays to you!

XOXO,

Your (favorite) wife
